2 minutes agoGaza’s health ministry says at least 500 people have been killed in the strike on the al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital but is warning the death toll could rise to 800.
Israel’s military says the explosion at the hospital was caused by a failed launch from Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which was carried out towards Israel. On X – formally known as Twitter – the official account for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “The entire world should know: It was barbaric terrorists in Gaza that attacked the hospital in Gaza, and not the IDF. Those who brutally murdered our children also murder their own children.”
A spokesman for Palestinian Islamic Jihad has denied it is responsible for the attack, while Hezbollah has announced “a day of unprecedented anger” against Israel.
