An Scots woman battling a chronic illness says she is "pointed and laughed at" whenever she leaves the house, and feels like she's "back in the playground".
She believes that disabled people are viewed as "collateral damage" following the pandemic. Jo also reinforced the point that many of people with conditions like hers are still dying. "I only really leave the house for an appointment at the doctors or the hospital. I find the noise of an airport or a restaurant really oppressive."
"I have to say, though, the special assistance I get everywhere is amazing. I really do appreciate it, I get emotional even just talking about it. Without people like them, I really couldn't live my life at all."
