Canadian researchers find that having a bedroom TV at age four is linked to significantly poorer physical and mental health later in childhood.

Giving children access to a television in their bedrooms could have a negative effect on their health, according to new research.

The children were followed from age four, and researchers assessed the children’s health at age 12 and 13. According to the researchers, these measures of health are also good predictors of physical and mental health in adulthood. “Intuitively, parents know that how their children spend their leisure time will impact their well-being over the long term,” she added.
