Sylwia Juranek set up Active Stars after exercising with her son helped her mental health.

By Liz Copper & Susie RackA free fitness group for families has been set up by a mum who began exercising to help her mental health.

"Understanding how important it is to come outside, get some fresh air and have a healthy lifestyle."Ms Juranek, a single mum and director of community interest company Reach for a Star, found her son also benefited from the time spent exercising together. "I started losing weight, I started feeling better and his results at school have improved as well, his behaviour changed and our relationship improved."

Within three years, she had lost 28kg and now believes in the power of setting goals.Parent Connor, who attended a session with daughter Luna, said the group was "brilliant" for fitness and sociability.
