Former Rep. John Delaney: 'We need universal healthcare, but ... having a government-only solution to health care is not the right answer' CNNTownHall

Former Maryland Rep. John Delaney wants universal health care, but he said a government-only solution is"not the right answer."

That changed at the outset of his CNN town hall, when Delaney, who is worth millions and formerly ran two publicly traded companies, responded to a question on his wealth by noting his upbringing. “For someone who, in many ways, is from the other side of the tracks and has to fight for everything I have gotten, you learn to be as professional as possible because that is what you have to do," he said.John Delaney has been running for president for almost two years -- he was the first Democrat to announce his campaign way back in 2017.

Just in case anyone wonders where all their hard-earned money goes that they fork over for healthcare.

JohnDelaney CNN is wrong again. Delaney does NOT support universal healthcare. He wants private insurance, too. That won't work.

JohnDelaney This guy is running for president? Not with that nonsense.

But a government-only solution to the stupid Wall is ?

Pretty convinced the right doesn't want their working-class base to have either healthcare or education. If they get mental health treatment for their anti-social tendencies and learn a bit of history and how the economy works they won't vote for Republicans anymore.

Better then being taken advantage of with crappy HMO scams; the get Rich Quick Plan Rep. Gov. Scott was involved in! If Medicare for all/single payer system scares Rep. Politicians so; How about they give US Their PLANS, Benefits, & Perks OR they can have same as We, the People!

Just made the list

DISQUALIFIED!

... said the man who already has healthcare. No, thank you.

JohnDelaney Well, I’ll never vote for you. 🤷‍♀️ Bernie/020

John Delaney was very well versed in all areas. Will keep watching him.

The problem with a halfway approach means insurance companies continue to suck money out of the system and drive up prices. I’m done with half measures (remember Obamacare?). Too easy for the repubes to undo the next time they steal an election by cheating, scamming, and fraud.

Cnn needs to come up with $250,000,000 but goverment shouldn't help.

The only reason we have a social security problem is Medicare. Before Medicare most of the elderly did not have medical insurance so they died earlier.Campaign on getting rid of Medicare see what that does to your polling.

Seriously, who is going to choose the private insurers? People who want to pay more for less coverage? Those companies lie, cheat and kill people to boost their profit margins. We are at the edge of the tarmac and their is no more runway. Medicare4All

Agree, Medicare4All won't work. Need healthcare reform based on patient-centered, pragmatic approach. Focus on root causes that drive high costs & restrict access. Embrace digitalhealth & innovation. 👀👉 jaketapper CNNTownHall SXSW SXSW19

It's literally the only solution. But you won't hear that from healthcare industry stooges.

Who?

Socialism at it's most optimum is when everyone stands in line and doesn't complain.

How come Bernie Sanders town hall was full of antagonistic questions and these new guys get softballs?

That's true when it's the republicans running the govt. They can't do anything right.

The truth about debilitating pain of bone on bone interaction is real. My sister who has been asking for lower doses of pain meds is looked at as an anomaly. She hates the drugs needed to be able to function. Taking her puppy for a walk is excruciating for her.

having a gov run, universal option that pays any and all medical costs with the rider that no one can practice medicine unless they accept it, doesn't mean private insurance companies can't still exist.

Access being the 'word.'

We need a president!
