A mother in Whitby is aiming to raise $2,000 to replace her son’s stolen e-bike, which he requires on account of medical challenges.. Her son Brandon lives with Basal Cell Carcinoma Nevus Syndrome, which heightens the risk of skin cancer and tumors. The condition has put him through various treatments and surgeries for much of his life.

According to Pearsell, the bike was stolen on September 27 from a grocery store in the area of Thickson Road and Dundas Street. Brandon is unable to ride regular bicycles because one leg is weaker than the other. In 2012, at the age of 19, doctors found a tumor in his pelvic bone, prompting rounds of chemotherapy, surgery and physiotherapy.
