Irish family raises over €46,500 in memory of sister who tragically died of cervical cancer

An Irish family raised over €46,500 in memory of their sister who tragically passed away aged 31 after battling cervical cancer.Doctors gave her the all clear but in a shocking turn of events, the cancer returned and she passed away in May 2012, BelfastLive reports.

Phil’s Allsorts organised exclusive screenings of the box office trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey in 2015, Fifty Shades Darker in 2017 and most recently Fifty Shades Freed at the Odyssey Cinemas, as a tribute to movie fan Philomena.Maureen Barr, Philomena's sister, said: "Northern Ireland Hospice provided support to my family and I at what was a very difficult time and we wanted to be able to give something back so that we as a family could help another family through their journey.

Sister Maureen was also due to get married in May 2012, but as Philomena's health deteriorated, she knew she wasn't going to make it to see her sister's big day. "She told them it was to be bridesmaid for me, but she told them she didn't think she would make it to May.
