The LA superstar seems to feel fine, however he got here.

All-NBA Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James didn't ever quite look like himself after sitting out 13 straight games late into the 2022-23 season with a torn tendon in his right foot.

The 6'8" superstar appeared to be a bit more tentative on fast breaks and wore down more frequently late in games, which greatly hampered his efficacy as the Western Conference playoffs wore on. He frequently lost his lift in fourth quarters, and was often reduced to forcing up doomed contested triples late in shot clocks rather than reading opposing defenses and making the right pass.

The possibility of a surgery loomed over James' offseason. He had even mentioned that two doctors recommended a season-ending surgery during the year, but a consult with"the LeBron James of feet" convinced the Chosen One to stick it out. Even James at 85% is still better than no James at all, as we saw.

During LA's Media Day festivities at the club's UCLA Health Training Facility in El Segundo, James didn't offer a concrete explanation about whether or not he actually underwent a surgical procedure over the summer, after all, per "This summer has been a lot about rehabbing that and getting that back to where it needs to be," James said."But my foot has been reacting very well on my offseason workouts. Looking forward to seeing how it reacts during training camp and all preseason going into the regular season. Excited to see where I am as it stands today.
