Pharmacists will be able to prescribe some medications under new plans being brought to Cabinet by Health Minister Stephen Donnelly this Tuesday morning.
This includes permitting pharmacists to supply Oral Contraception Pills without a prescription. The proposed change comes following the extension of the free contraception scheme for women up to 30 last month. The new bill would also amend the law to allow a “wider range of suitably qualified professionals” to give vaccinations.
Following a number of controversies at An Bord Pleanála, the group will be renamed An Coimisiún Pleanála. The Bill will also provide for a more streamlined process for those taking Judicial Reviews and will provide clarity on sufficient interest and standing rights for applicants.
