Trump admin. family-planning abortion rule risks 'national public health crisis,' AMA says

The American Medical Association and Planned Parenthood filed a federal court lawsuit Tuesday challenging a new Trump administration rule changing criteria for family-planning grant money in ways sought by anti-abortion activists.

"Pregnancies that are unintended, and thus riskier, will increase. The number of abortions will also increase. And there will be fewer tests for sexually transmitted infections and cancer screens — putting patients and their partners at great health risk," the lawsuit said. "Because of the administration's overreach and interference ... physicians will be prohibited from having open, frank conversations with their patients about all their health care options," said the AMA's president, Dr. Barbara McAneny."This blatant violation of patients' rights under the Code of Medical Ethics is untenable."

The new Trump administration rule is scheduled to take effect in 60 days, but implementation is likely to be delayed by litigation. In addition to the AMA/Planned Parenthood lawsuit, the rule is being challenged in a lawsuit filed Monday by California officials and another filed Tuesday by officials in 20 other mostly Democratic controlled states.

Commies freak out on cue.

How will you handle death? To each life, it's sewn Better to have lived and lost Than to have never known Organisms, life on Mars Human fetus, not on earth How did they handle death? When they were expecting birth … … … …

Same old storyline

Aborting a baby you intentionally conceived is a health crisis? I don’t think so. I have three daughters they are all pro life and respect their bodies like a temple

They don’t care...they are a loony cult.

When I was a young adult, I had no health insurance, ergo, I used and was grateful for Planned Parenthood. I dislike that anyone would want an abortion, but I'm not God, and I know there are different beliefs, which I respect.

Yeah, I know. We're all gonna die. Oh wait, isn't that the point?

Are they saying that there are that many women seeking abortions?

Want to see author and nbc bias? ‘anti-abortion activists’ rather than pro-life advocates. Nuff said

Does anyone think the president cares or even understands

The poor can access healthcare and parent planning at Federal healthcare clinics across the country !

BabyKillers

The next generation being born is a national health crisis in the eyes of the Planned Parenthood funded Democrat party.

Oh, but Doctor trump knows best. I am sure he feels the same way.

Donnie doesn’t care.

If I don't want to pay for killing your child, you do it yourself.

We're supposed to pretend that celibacy is the answer, and that states that teach celibacy in place of safe sex don't have a higher rate of unplanned pregnancy (teen or otherwise). It's almost like they want you to be poor and uneducated
