Domestic violence prevention services will receive a record $328 million funding boost as the Prime Minister ramps up the government’s signature election pledges.
Under the plan, the government will commit $68.3 million for prevention strategies, $35 million in support and prevention measures for Indigenous communities and $78 million to provide safe places for victims. “A culture of disrespect towards women is a precursor to violence, and anyone who doesn’t see that is kidding themselves,” the Prime Minister says.with $68.3 million to stop violence before it begins.
