Two of the 110 restaurants visited by Fort Worth health inspectors between Sept. 2 and Sept. 16 were temporarily closed for serious health code violations and four more failed their inspections, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.
Hurtado Barbecue, at 1116 8th Ave., in Fort Worth was temporarily closed due to issues with refrigeration, and Quick Stop No. 1 at 2413 Northeast 28th St. had its permit suspended due to refrigeration issues and no hot water. Inspectors also found roaches at four restaurants, including Quick Stop No. 1. Roaches were also found at:and Prima Pizza and Pasta at 6108 S. Hulen St.
Four restaurants received more than 30 demerits. Stores with more than 30 demerits are required to fix the most serious health code infractions immediately and take care of the rest within 48 hours. Those restaurants were:SWAD, 8333 Sohi Drive, 33 demerits;Of note, inspectors at Righteous Foods at 3405 W. 7th St. found rat droppings in the restaurant. When they visited Paco’s Mexican Cuisine at 1508 W. Magnolia Ave., they found dead insects in a flour container in the kitchen.
