The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday identified the man killed by Dallas police during a chase and shootout on Sunday.

Michael Raymond Shirley, 55, was killed in the 2000 block of Barnes Bridge Road, in Far East Dallas early Sunday.The Dallas County medical examiner’s office on Tuesday identified the man killed by Dallas police during a chase and shootout early Sunday.

Michael Raymond Shirley, 55, was killed in the 2000 block of Barnes Bridge Road, in Far East Dallas early Sunday. Police said Shirley shot at officers as they approached the stolen vehicle which he was driving before leading them on a chase which ended in the car crashing and flipping. Shirley opened fire on officers again, and was killed by police in the shootout.A woman inside the car with Shirley wasn’t seriously injured, police said. No officers were injured.
