The NCDC disclosed this in its latest monthly situation report on Cholera, covering Epidemiological weeks 31 to 34.It is primarily transmitted through contaminated water and food and is most commonly found in areas with poor sanitation and limited access to clean water.
It said that on August 27, 2023, the country registered 84 suspected deaths and 2,860 suspected cases across 25 states, representing a Case Fatality Ratio of 2.9 per cent. Also, Bauchi, Niger and Borno states reported two cases each, followed by Gombe and Adamawa states with a single case each.
