About the editorial In the present editorial, researchers presented the health benefits of the ketogenic diet. Mechanisms via which dietary ketosis might improve metabolic health The processes by which dietary ketosis might improve metabolic well-being are not fully understood. Some, however, are rather well-established, while others are actively being researched.

Another field where the ketogenic dietary strategy shows tremendous potential is neuroprotection. A novel treatment option for mitochondrial pyruvate carrier and malate aspartate shuttle deficits, which are linked to neurological abnormalities, has been discovered in a study. KD-related microbiota changes may cause epigenetic modifications in obesity-related genes and influence inflammatory cytokine levels in fatty tissue.
