The building is currently under construction and is expected to open next year and will be home to three GP practices and will also be Scotland's first net zero carbon health and care facility.

A super sized GP surgery being built in Parkhead is to be one of the biggest in the UK - combining nine sites into one.

She added: "It is going to be the first of its kind. It is reducing nine health and social care sites to one, which is hoping to be a one stop shop for the local community within the east end of Glasgow." The new facility, which will also boast a library and cafe, is being constructed on the site of the former Parkhead Hospital and current Sandyford, Anvil Centre and Parkhead Health Centre.
