Actions of doctor praised after shooting suspect opened fire at West Palm Beach VA Medical Center.

A doctor has been injured by a double amputee who opened fire inside a hospital for military veterans in Florida. Larry Ray Bon, 59, originally from Michigan, has been arrested for shooting a handgun inside the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center on February 27.

"During the shooting, in between shots, the doctor saw an opportunity to jump on the suspect and disarm him," FBI Special Agent Justin Fleck said, reported WPLG. Bon, who has lived in West Balm Beach for a number of years, served in the U.S. Army briefly in the 1970s, although his amputations are not thought to be as a result of military involvement.

Why crying over a terminal patient made me a better doctorShowing emotion is seen as unprofessional. But I think clinical outcomes improve when we’re emotionally invested in medical care. I cried when my 94 year old grandmother died and I cried when my mother, only 52 years old died. Crying is what caring people do. If you think about it, all of us are terminal patients with varying remaining lifespans. A beautiful piece, you’re to be commended

VA Expands Vets' Access To Private Care But Gives No Plan To Pay For ItThe VA has published new rules on how it will spend billions of dollars on private health care. Proponents say it will give veterans more choices - others fear it's a move toward privatization. Yep, Trump sells access to privatizing the VA down in Mar-a-lago Good. Private health care is a scam. It is designed to extract as much profit as possible, and cut corners where it can. Healthcare must not be a commodity, but a Right. We need Medicare for All.
