HSE chiefs have ordered a review into spina bifida paediatric care at Temple Street hospital after one child died and others suffered serious catastrophic complications after surgery.The HSE has apologised and ordered an independent review by UK experts to get to the bottom of the latest medical scandal, at Children’s Hospital Ireland Temple Street.The review has been welcomed by politicians.
“The public deserves answers now about what went on at Temple Street and, crucially, who knew what and when. “The review will be conducted by Mr Selvadurai Nayagam, Consultant in Orthopaedics and Trauma, and Head of the Limb Reconstruction Unit at the Royal Liverpool University and Royal Liverpool Children’s Hospitals.”
