It is expected to benefit 1 million people in Tijuana as general hospitals are the only option for those who do not have medical insurance, said Mexican authorities

Baja California Gov. Marina del Pilar Ávila last week toured the site where the much-needed hospital is being built. Operations are expected to begin in December.

It is estimated that the eastern General Hospital will benefit around 1 million people, according to Mexican authorities. “This is in response to a genuine plea from both health providers and residents for better healthcare,” he said. Baja California Secretary of Health Adrián Medina Amarillas, Gov. of Baja California Marina del Pilar Ávila, and the Secretary of Infrastructure and Urban Development Arturo Espinoza tour the site where the second general hospital is being built in Tijuana.
