More than 40% of Arkansans suffer from depression, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

While most patients benefit from talk therapy and medication, a third of sufferers find no relief through traditional treatments. Lou Ann Eads, Associate Professor of Psychiatry at UAMS, calls it "treatment-resistant depression.
