An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, in the Adult Activities Center, 665 Barrington Ave., Carpentersville.

The event is being sponsored by the Carpentersville Police Department, Carpentersville Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4790 and Dundee Township Park District. The breakfast will feature pancakes, sausages and refreshments, with food provided by Village Fresh Market, a post on the fire union’s Facebook page said.Kane Forest Preserve District plans Senior Strolls

The Kane County Forest Preserve District is holding a series of naturalist-led Senior Strolls this fall. Each month, the free walk will be held in a different forest preserve to learn about the natural and cultural history of the area, a news release said. The strolls begin at 10 a.m. and last about an hour, with social time and refreshments provided following the walk. They’re scheduled for:Oct. 5 at Bliss Woods Forest Preserve, 5S660 Bliss Road in Sugar Grove;Dec. 7 for a Holiday Potluck Party at Brewster Creek Forest Preserve, 6N921 Route 25 in St. Charles.
