A doctor has shared a 'quick and effective' way to drop weight using a method that is restricted within 16 hours.
Dr James O'Donovan recommends this type of diet, but noted that intermittent fasting isn't about starving yourself. He explained: "It’s about cutting way back on calories for short time periods. The majority of people using this diet tend to begin fasting at night, skip breakfast in the morning, and eat their first meal of the day around noon. You aren't restricted to certain foods during the eight hour window, but people often use the keto diet to even further their weight loss.
"Research shows fasting for a certain number of hours each day or eating just one meal a couple days a week may have health benefits - for example for losing weight and for better control of diabetes." He explains: "These foods are often full of bad sugars and preservatives, which are going to spike your blood sugars quickly and make you feel more hungry."
He continued: "Intermittent fasting has been shown to reduce fasting insulin and blood sugar levels, potentially decreasing your risk of diabetes.
