As part of a 3.5 million state fund allocation, West Covina will be the home to Emanate’s newest emergency and ICU units.

Assemblywoman Blanca E. Rubio has presented $3 million to the Emanate Health Foundation for its new emergency department and ICU at Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina.

“For years, this funding opportunity has been a top priority of mine. This budget request was put in jeopardy due to a global pandemic and our state’s fiscal deficit,” said Rubio. “However, with perseverance and an outstanding partnership with Emanate Health, we successfully secured state dollars for this project.”

“Assemblymember Rubio and Sen. Rubio are a part of this community and are now a part of the Emanate Health family,” Emanate Health President & CEO Roger Sharma said. The Queen of the Valley’s emergency and ICU are scheduled to be complete in spring 2024 and officials report it is expected to serve 120,000 people a year.
