Authorities arrested a man who was suspected of driving under the influence, but he sped away from the scene. Multiple witnesses stayed behind him and were able to give first responders the driver’s license plate number and the vehicle description.
Thanks to the drivers who helped, investigators were able to track down the driver and took them in for questioning. The suspect also submitted to a blood test an hour after the crash,The incident happened when the vehicle hit Shuibat in the area of mile marker 67 near Green Tree and sped away. Shuibat was pronounced dead at 11:44 p.m. but a cause or manner of death has yet to be released.
