The majority—more than 58%—of the life-years saved and economic impact in the study came from. That's because of the early start and long duration of screening, which is recommended to be done at regular intervals in all individuals between the ages of 18 and 65 who have a cervix.
The authors note that there are not validated screening tests for broad groups of people for many other kinds of cancer. New types of screening tools, such as blood tests that look for biomarkers of multiple types of cancer at once, are currently in development, including by study sponsor Grail LLC.
