The 24-year-old rapper from Pretoria announced earlier this week that she has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.

Emotional words of support and encouragement were shared by her fans and industry peers, wishing the Sex in Afrikaans hitmaker a smooth recovery. City Press confirmed with Greeff’s manager Wynand Myburgh that on August 15, the artist underwent lifesaving surgery, which would allow her to safely do her chemotherapy for six months thereafter. It’s strange, though. Angie seems to be in positive spirits, along with the rest of us.

Greeff thought she was out of the woods, but earlier this year, she began complaining about pain on the side of her body. With concerns for her health increasing, she went to the doctor, who said that she had pneumonia and administered the correct medication for the ailment. Myburgh stated Greeff was in good health after her surgery and was currently in the ICU, awaiting more information and visits from her friends and family.
