"As soon as everyone found out I was pregnant, that's all anyone wanted to talk to me about. Suddenly, my individuality took a backseat.

But honestly, it felt like there wasn't any focus on me as a person. It was disempowering, confusing, and made me doubt myself.View gallery Suddenly, the person I was before becoming a mum seemed to fade into the background. I wondered if I had made the right decision to have a baby. I constantly questioned myself, feeling like I didn't fit the mould of a ‘typical’ mother.

Without realising, I began searching for information, trying to find safe spaces to share my vulnerability with other parents whose experience was similar to mine. From that point on, I dove headfirst into everything matrescence-related, including the Mama Rising matrescence course with Amy Taylor-Kabbaz.

It's about finding balance and living according to my values without sacrificing my mental health and well-being. I’ve learnt that taking care of myself is crucial to being the best mum I can be.
