Ten hospitals in Quezon City received a total of P50,000,000 under the Department of Health’s Medical Assistance Program fund that they can use to provide assistance to indigent patients.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, Senator Joel Villanueva, health professionals and officials of the hospitals attended the turnover ceremony of the MAP fund at the Quezon City Hall on Wednesday. A memorandum of agreement between the hospitals’ officials and the DOH occurred during the event. Villanueva said the 10 hospitals in the city, which were granted P5,000,000 each, may use the funds to help patients who cannot afford to avail of the different medical services or buy medicines.

“It is indeed a clear declaration of your unwavering commitment to value the lives of the Filipino people by making sure that everyone receives the best care possible. For us, this is a testament of your dedication to build a compassionate country where care is a right and not a privilege,” she told the senator.
