New Jersey Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver dies after undisclosed medical issue

Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver was taking over for Governor Phil Murphy while he is on vacation, but she has since been hospitalized.New Jersey Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver, who was serving as acting governor while Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy is out of the state, has died after being taken to a hospital for an undisclosed medical issue.

Murphy, who is in Italy on vacation, released a statement saying he and his family are incredibly saddened and distraught to learn of Oliver's passing: Murphy went on to say that Oliver served as an inspiration to millions of women and girls everywhere -- especially young women of color.
