The clinic also offers birth control and emergency contraception and refills on prescriptions, such as for asthma, hypertension and epinephrine . While Amazon Clinic now supports video visits nationwide, with access to clinicians through Amazon.com and the Amazon mobile app, it also provides message-based consultations in 34 states.
Amazon’s move into U.S. healthcare system followed the 2018 acquisition of PillPack, which is now called Amazon Pharmacy, and has most recently included the completion of the $3.9 billion acquisition of primary care organization One Medical. Amazon’s stock fell 1.29% in morning trading Tuesday. It has soared just under 30% over the past three months, while the S&P 500 index SPX has just under 10%.
