In several communities in Nigeria and for some people, rainwater comes in handy as an alternative to use in the absence of potable water for domestic purposes.

“Some studies have shown potential links between PFAS exposure and decreased fertility, developmental issues in children, increased risk of some cancers, and reduced immune system function.

Prof. Afolabi insisted that rainwater holds lots of benefits for the human body because of the little minerals dissolved in it. “Rainwater harvesting and use reduces stress on the ecosystem by reducing carbon footprint and runoff, which can cause flooding. It conserves water and reduces pressure on underground water sources.”

Meanwhile, some researchers in a study discovered that rainwater across the globe should be considered unsafe to drink because of the presence of what is known as “forever chemicals.”
