Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has extended his medical leave even as his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, will continue as the acting governor.

Akeredolu on Monday forwarded a letter of extension of his medical leave to the state house of assembly, the receipt of which was confirmed by the speaker, Olamide Oladiji. "The Governor of Ondo…

“The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, is following the doctor’s advice on the need to take adequate rest after recuperating,” Oladiji said. Oladiji further stated that Aiyedatiwa would continue to act as governor “until there is a written declaration to the contrary”.Akeredolu earlier said he was in high spirits as he recovers and is ready to return to Nigeria soon after undergoing medical treatment abroad.

Ademola-Olateju said that Akeredolu also thanked the people of Ondo State for their prayers and support which have been a soothing balm.
