The 44th ASEAN Senior Officials on Drug Matters (ASOD) meeting was a platform for the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) to collaborate with international counterparts on drug abuse prevention and control. | ManilaBulletin READ:

In a statement, the DDB noted that Maria Victoria C. Sorne, officer-in-charge , Deputy Executive Director for Administration of the Board, discussed relevant concerns and different solutions and gaps in the implementation of treatment and rehabilitation interventions.

The DDB stressed that the session highlighted stronger cooperation and emphasized the importance of a committed community to continuously improve the lives of People Who Use Drugs within the region. The Philippine delegation to the ASOD includes Kevin A. Bumagat of the Department of Social Welfare and Development , Francis Grace H. Duka-Pante, Director of the ASEAN Training Center for Preventive Drug Education and Deputy Director Elyvenson D. Plaza of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency .

The Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control of Myanmar hosted the three-day gathering held via video conference from July 5 to 7.
