Dr Cooksley said patients will still be receiving corridor care and having poor experiences in hospitals this winter. He called for “urgent short-term actions” – such as extra payments for health care staff to ensure safe staffing levels and a “definitive resolution to strikes” – to prevent a repeat. “We may not yet have reached the nadir,” Dr Cooksley said.
