Eye care can be expensive. But there is good news as the Pasay city government with Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano at its helm continues to offer free eye exams, vision screenings and eyeglasses to all needy constituents and Pasay residents.

Oplan Sagip Mata is a multisectoral effort for visual health. The movement was launched with the overall aim of advocating primary eye care and addressing the grievous concern for the enormous backlog of cataract cases. Above photo shows the program’s resident optometrist Arnel Acsay giving a Pasay resident an eye exam as Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano looks on.

Doctor Acsay has been providing free eye care services for the Pasay LGU’s Sagip Mata Project since 2011.
