Elon Musk takes aim at Meta's new Threads app, saying 'thank goodness they're so sanely run' in response to data collection concerns

"We've been hearing from creators and public figures who are interested in having a platform that is sanely run," he said — prompting cheers from Meta staff,Threads is now available for pre-download on the App Store; it's slated to officially launch on Thursday.of Meta this week, apparently sarcastically, in response to the news.

He was replying to a tweet from entrepreneur Mario Nawfal — whose account Musk is subscribed to — which disagreed with the"sanely run" barb and zeroed in on Meta's data collection policy. In the App Store, Threads is said to collect a lengthy list of users' information, including financial info, identifiers, and"sensitive info." from Twitter cofounder Jack Dorsey, who tweeted:"All your Threads are belong to us."

Meta did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment. Insider contacted Twitter for comment. The company responded with an automated message that didn't address the inquiry., even if they pay the $8-a-month fee for Twitter Blue.
