TV chef, Joe Shannon, has spoken about his chemotherapy after revealing last month that he had terminal cancer.He told presenters Alan Hughes and Tommy Bowe: "Since I was up with ye the last time, I finished that round of chemotherapy, and I met my professor, the oncologist, Professor McCaffrey about three weeks ago.

The upbeat Sligo man shared a joke with Alan and Tommy as he handed them a counterfeit €200 in the form of a napkin. He said: "I just thought - you know how other media organisation stations are paying their stars a fortune? I thought I’d throw this to you.Joe added that the response from viewers of Ireland AM has been "phenomenal".He is now presenting a radio show in the mornings with his musician pal, Georgie Gorman, on Sligo’s Ocean FM.
