Pelluer was a standout player at Washington State prior to being selected in the fourth-round, 91st-overall, by the Cowboys in the 1981 NFL Draft. The Cowboys waived him that season, and he joined the Saints and played for the team through the 1986 season.Following his time in the NFL, Pelluer embarked on a coaching career that included stops at Boise State, Washington, Arizona and Northern Arizona.
