Parts of UK officially in heatwave

By Rachel RussellMany parts of the UK are officially experiencing a heatwave as temperatures continue to climb to 30C.

in northern Scotland and western parts of Northern Ireland until 21:00 BST on Tuesday evening, with more rain and thunder possible later in the week.Media caption,The Met Office defines a heatwave as three consecutive days with daily maximum temperatures meeting or exceeding the heatwave temperature threshold.from 25C in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the North and South West of England, to 28C in parts of South East England.

on Tuesday too after temperatures climbed to above 27C at Magilligan in County Derry and in 28C in Armagh.Meanwhile,on Monday after temperatures reached 30.7C in Threave in Dumfries and Galloway. Last week's high temperatures led to the UK's Health Security Agency and the Met Office to issue an amber heat-health alert.
