The health care supply-chain billionaire and part-owner of the Montreal Canadiens has sealed the deal to purchase the Ottawa Senators.

It was a scrum to the final whistle, but the Ottawa Senators have finally found a new owner.the team confirmed Tuesday morning“My family and I are very excited to be a part of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club,” Andlauer said in a statement. “I believe that the Senators’ fan base is one of the most passionate in the league and I’m excited to take the franchise’s success both on and off the ice to the next level.

In 2015, Andlauer sold the AHL Bulldogs to the Montreal Canadiens and purchased the OHL Belleville Bulls, which he relocated to Hamilton and renamed the Hamilton Bulldogs. The OHL Bulldogs recently won the OHL championship in 2022, before temporarily relocating to Brantford beginning in the 2023—24 OHL season to accommodate renovations at their Hamilton arena.

Snoop Dogg, meanwhile, was in a bid spearheaded by Los Angeles-based businessman Neko Sparks. The rapper alluded to reports that“It’s your boy big Snoop Dogg giving a shout out to the First Nations of Canada, that’s right, for joining Neko Sparks in the Ottawa Senators bid,” he said, standing in a recording studio wearing a Senators jersey. “We trying to do something, we trying to make a difference.
