Imagine sitting in bed on a Saturday morning, opening your post and finding out that what you thought was a freckle, was in fact a mole that was cancerous.

I pleaded with him for months to go and get it checked because it wasn't healing well. I nagged for months and months but he was being his usual stubborn self and didn't want to go. He told me: "The thought never crossed my mind that it could be something more serious. I just thought it would be a funny scar to add to my collection. But after you, your family and my own mum badgered me to go to the doctors, I finally did."

"I blamed myself for getting cancer, then I'd feel silly for being dramatic and from there I'd bounce from one to the other multiple times a day. After my second surgery, I was at my lowest, I'd convinced myself my cancer had spread, and when the doctor told me I was all clear it felt like I could breathe again.

We could be in a freak accident and die, you can't live your life worrying about the 'what if', because you'll never have the good moments then. He's been told to wear factor 50 sun cream all of the time now to protect his skin as well as keep out of direct sunlight for too long.
