June 7, 2023 DaniRae RennoMary Hanns is confident that she would be dead without Medicaid. In August 2020, at 62 years old, Hann was diagnosed with stage three cancer. The Pittsburgh-native had no health insurance, and couldn’t afford the Affordable Care Act Plan even though she was working full time. Ironically, Hanns’s job was selling health insurance.
