He went on to share that he received the diagnosis during the pre-production for the band’s long-promised new album, but he was feeling well enough to continue working in the studio until he underwent surgery. “The band and I were so inspired to lay down these tracks, which by the way sound … awesome!” he wrote.Ness added he is taking the recovery from the surgery day-by-day and said that in three weeks he’ll start radiation. It will be the last therapy he needs for treatment since the doctors have assured him that once he’s through it, he can begin the healing process and is expected to make a full recovery.
“I want you all to know that this has opened my eyes to a whole new struggle,” he wrote. “I know it’s one that many of you or your loved ones have personally endured, and my heart goes out to you because I now know what it’s like from this heavy experience.”
