A buyer shelled out $145,000 for a retro mobile home in California with rumored ties to 'I Love Lucy' — see inside

A mobile home in Palm Springs, California, that is now a delightful one-bedroom home, but is rumored to have been Desi Arnaz's makeup trailer for"I Love Lucy," sold in May for $145,000.

But in Horizon Mobile Village & RV Park at the bottom of the San Jacinto Mountains, the trailer now affectionately named Lucille sold for about $432 per square foot.told Insider."In this park, for a one-bedroom the size of what this is, that was fairly expensive."This 336-square-foot trailer in Palm Springs was built in 1954.The trailer sits on a 1,200-square-foot lot and has a front porch as well as a side patio.

The designer already has a property in Palm Springs and used this one to host friends while they were in town.The latest buyer will be putting it to similar use, according to Esposito.The trailer would be an ideal short-term rental for travelers visiting Southern California, but according to park rules, each trailer is owner-occupied and cannot be rented for short or long term."It would do amazing as an Airbnb, but they don't allow it," Esposito said.
