The Department of Health on Sunday reported 1,272 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest tally in five days, bringing the Philippines' total to 4,148,401.

The Department of Health on Sunday reported 1,272 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest tally in five days, bringing the Philippines' total to 4,148,401.

The DOH's COVID-19 tracker also shows that active cases decreased to 13,808, the lowest in 25 days after 23 straight days of more than 14,000 active cases, according to GMA Integrated News Research.The region with the most new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days is the National Capital Region with 6,279, followed by Calabarzon with 4,316; Central Luzon with 2,419; Western Visayas with 1,551; and Cagayan Valley with 926.

Among cities and provinces, Quezon City had the most new cases in the last 14 days with 1,549, followed by Cavite province with 1,433; Rizal province with 978; Bulacan province with 964, and Laguna province with 929. COVID-19 bed occupancy is at 20.9% with 5,293 occupied and 19,982 vacant. Among the occupied beds, 2,474 are in the ICU.
