“I struggled at different points in my life with some really severe depression, which I’m glad to be on the other side of now,” Grace says. “But I definitely know what it feels like to be in that place where you don’t really see any type of out for yourself.” They feel lucky they had a support group of family and friends and doctors, but acknowledge not everyone has access to even a basic level of care.
Music was a “safe haven” for Grace when they were in a dark place, which is why they create music to help people feel less alone. “I really enjoy listening to super upbeat music when I’m having sad days,” they say. We definitely understand how important of a topic and a cause it is. We both gave it our all for that video.
