I had an interview for PGCE at UniversityLeeds where they kept me waiting for three hours and then the person conducting the interview scrunched up a ball of paper and threw it in my face saying, ‘How would you deal with that?’ I went to UEA instead.
I recall an interview with The Body Shop for seasonal staff. They did a group interview and we were told to make small talk and play parlour games while they walked around to observe. No thanks - I found another job instead.
Not a misuse of power, just interviewing techniques. The fact there's outrage over this is just testament to whiteprivilege especially of the female kind, bonus points if she's a liberal, then it's no surprise Twitter was up in arms and ready to ruin a man's life. OliviaBland
Great candidates, with good references, tend to get easier interviews. Candidates who haven’t worked in months, because they seemingly walked out on their previous job (or maybe got fired) are going to get a grilling
Going by her CV she posted, she seems to have walked out on her previous employer as well, and was applying for a very junior role (compared to her experience) Sorry, that’s a real red flag. They’re going to grill you. It’s not as if she was an outstanding candidate
Had a runner interview with a certain hip n' trendy editing facility which consisted of mildly annoyed guy asking what I'm like on a night out and if I'm a natural redhead before telling me I would want to kill myself some days in that role.
I had an interview like this with Borders. I could tell right away the jackhole boss wasn't going to hire me but he wouldn't stop berating me for not being right for the job. Then he started speaking to me in Yiddish (it's none of his goddamn business that I'm Jewish.)
Another day, another millennial sob story. Every time life proves too hard for a millennial to deal with, out comes the Twitter brigade to comfort them and to tell everyone how sad it is and how unfair.
Pass through the stress interview to pretend to love their jobs. Sigh
One persons word for what when on... that person had a tough interview. Probably expecting to be handed the job on a plate. Life’s hard, deal with it.
