The Jackson metro area’s only inpatient hospice facility closed at the end of April. It’s unclear what caused the facility to close.

by Kate Royals, Mississippi Today May 25, 2023 The Jackson metro area’s only inpatient hospice facility closed its doors at the end of April. The nonprofit Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland offered 30 to 40 inpatient beds available for people who needed hospice services but could not remain at home or in another facility.  Hospice care is defined as a type of health care that focuses on comfort and alleviation of symptoms at the end of life for terminally ill patients.
