Health unit believes Ontario should prop up local health unit budgets by at least 70 per cent to cover off the costs of mandatory public health services

The board of health for Public Health Sudbury and Districts has endorsed a resolution asking the province to provide at least 70 per cent funding of the mandatory programs and services that public health units must provide.PHSD Medical Officer of Health Dr.

"One might argue these were not sufficient at the time and certainly had been eroded over that time," said Sutcliffe. Sutcliffe said PHSD is also worried about the 2024 budget year because there is no indication about the provincial mitigation grant and it is expected there will be an increase in budget expenditures because of inflation.
