Walk honours Sandi and Florent Foucher, community members who have been affected by dementia.Residents are invited to sign up for the walk as individuals or may set up a team of family, friends or coworkers and show people on the dementia journey that they are not alone. There’s a big incentive added to this year’s walk that sees Northern B.C. residents become eligible to win $1,000 when they participate in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s that takes place across the province in 20 communities. The walk is an important opportunity to raise awareness about dementia, challenge the stigma associated with the disease and raise funds to support British Columbians on the dementia journey.
